There are some very special classes and workshops next week that we would like to bring to your attention.


Monday 10th March


For the second time this term we are delighted to welcome Matoula Ploumidi to The Second Half Centre as part of ourInternational Cooking class on Monday from 12pm to 1.30pm. Matoula will be creating another Greek classic and offering hints and tips for the kitchen.


Tuesday 11th March


Michael Runge and the Designing and Practical Gardening class will be heading to RHS Wisley to see beautiful blooms and the delights of Spring emerge on Tuesday, meeting at The Second Half Centre at 10.00am. If you would like to join them, please get in touch on 0208 962 5500.

Wednesday 12th March


Freeny Yianni Hammick, who helped build Charles Saatchi’s world famous art collection, will be holding the second part of a special two part Investing in Contemporary Art workshop on Wednesday 12th March 2.00pm – 4.00pm. Freeny will be examining all aspects of contemporary art from painting and sculpture to photography. Thursday 13th March


Join Dr Kevin Childs to explore The Courtauld Gallery on Thursday 13th March as part of the The Art of Revolution: Art and Politics 1789 – 1914 classMeet Kevin outside the front entrance of Somerset House, The Strand, WC2R 1LA at10.00am to view some Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces.



Friday 14th March


Maria Cristina White-da Cruz will be heading out once again with the Discovering World Religion Through Art, Objects and Sacred Spaces class to the V&A for a 2 hour lecture followed by a tour of the Jameel Gallery. Meet Maria outside the front entrance of the V&A on Cromwell Road, SW7 2RL at 10.00am on Friday 14th March.


There will be no Ballet Tone next Thursday between 1.00pm and 2.00pm. The class will return to The SHC on Thursday 20th March 1.00pm – 2.00pm.



The next meeting of the Book Club will be held on Thursday 20th March 3.30pm – 5.00pm. Members will be discussingJ.D Salinger’s classic novel The Catcher in the Rye. Come along for some stimulating and interesting discussions.
